Ben is a soldier, he soon falls in love with the town and established character Carly Morris and leaves the army. Hodgson described Ben as having "traditional values" and "stability". Carly admires these traits and feels ready to settle down with him. Ben and Carly marry and Hodgson predicted that their marriage would be successful because they "really do want what is best for each other". McMahon quit Home and Away the same year that his character arrived. Peter Holmes of The Sydney Morning Herald was critical of McMahon's acting in the role, calling him "wooden" and saying he did "a splendid impression of a Thunderbird".

Heather grabs Marilyn and forces her up to the roof, where she is confronted by Cash. He tries to talk her down, but Heather pulls Marilyn up onto the ledge of a balcony and attempts to reach an open window. The masonry crumbles and Heather falls to the floor below, but she is not killed. Marilyn leaves as an enraged Heather flies into a rant, yelling that her friends know the truth and will never look at her the same way again. Marilyn later receives word that Heather is unfit to stand trial for her crimes and is committed to a psychiatric hospital. Eden Fowler, played by Stephanie Panozzo, made her first appearance on 4 July 2022.
Heather reacts when she hears Roo call out to Marilyn Chambers, and she later takes a photo of Marilyn on her phone. When Mitzy feels sick after a meal, she reveals to Marilyn that she has lung cancer and is dying. That same evening Mitzy walks home from the Diner with Dex and collapses. Sid informs Mitzy that she has an inoperable brain tumour and only has weeks to live.

When the pregnancy failed, he decided he couldn't go through with it again. Another 2017 arrival, Ziggy has been known to be a bit troublesome at times and one of her early stories saw her run away from home. Ziggy was in a relationship with Brody, a pairing that her father, Ben, certainly didn't approve of, but the pair nonetheless went on marry. The tumultuous relationship was never meant to be though and they have since separated. In scenes that happened off-screen, Nikau's father was shot and killed by the police when he was younger. He arrived in Summer Bay in 2020 with his uncles and has already sent many hearts a-flutter.
Karen and Blake arrive in town looking for Ailsa Stewart , their mother Margot's former cellmate. They want to stay with her after they fall out with their uncle Alec . Ailsa's husband Alf is resistant at first but she talks him around. Karen and Blake get into many scrapes when they befriend Sophie Simpson .

However, Mitzy then tells Sid that she did not make it up and she dies. Talking to TV Week's Carolyn Stewart, Johnson described Paulie as being the "starry-eyed dreamer in the family". His ideas have often led him into trouble and he acts before he thinks.

He eventually catches up with his brother, Angelo, who is not pleased to see him. Angelo resents Paulie due to him inheriting the family restaurant. Paulie reveals that he is in trouble with some loan sharks and owes $30,000. Angelo agrees to bail him out, despite being in debt himself.
In their book Home and Away Annual, Kesta Desmond and David Nicholls describe Blake as being the "sort of boy any parent would be proud to call their son." Blake is "high spirited, loves life and lives it to the full". He has natural charm and is a quick thinker, this helps him to escape trouble. Blake is the older brother of Karen Dean and he tries to protect her from the scrapes she gets herself into.
Hill later announced his departure from the series via an interview in TV Week. The actor has since reprised the role including guest appearances for the serial's fourteenth anniversary and the 4,000th episode. Alan Henderson, played by Peter Phelps, made his first on screen appearance on 23 January 2012. The character and casting was announced on 22 December 2011. Phelps was reunited with Robert Mammone , who he previously worked with on Stingers. Mammone said "Peter and I have known each other for 20 years. It's like a school reunion when you work with actors that you've worked with before for a long time. It's been lots of fun."
Natalie asks Zac MacGuire to watch over Casey in prison and Brax thanks her. Haydn Ross played by Andrew Hill first appeared on 31 October 1990 and departed on 17 September 1991. Hill told Nigel May from Look-in that he won the role of Haydn by chance because agent made a mistake during the application process. A columnist for TV Week said that when Haydn arrives in Summer Bay, he thinks it is a "hick town". Haydn is the son of Cynthia and Michael Ross , he benefited from his father's business by attending a private school. In their book Home and Away Annual Kesta Desmond and David Nicholls describe Haydn as being "athletic and determined like his father"; but like his mother, too, because he has a "love of culture and a comfortable lifestyle".
Scenes at the moment in the UK are showing Leah attempt to deal with all that happened to her. The long-standing cast member first appeared in the show all the way back in 1989. This is Symon's third long-running stint playing the character of Marilyn and this is the longest one yet having started in 2010. Ari arrived in Summer Bay in 2020 and is the head of the Parata family. Tane arrived in 2020 along with the rest of the Parata family.
After Miles visits Michael Patton for a psychiatric assessment, he is prescribed some medication, but Rabbit begs him not to take it. However, Miles takes the pills and Rabbit disappears for a while. Miles struggles to keep Rabbit's visions quiet resulting in an outburst at school, which gets him suspended. Rabbit has another premonition involving Elijah Johnson (Jay Laga'aia), Leah Patterson-Baker and several school children in danger on an excursion.

April's older sister, Bianca, made her debut in July, while Paolo Rosetta was introduced to the show in August. The following month Mitzy Fraser, Vittorio Seca, Daria Hennessy were introduced to the show. Jade Montgomery, played by Tasma Walton, made her first screen appearance on 16 October 2013. The character and Walton's casting was announced on 27 July 2013.
After his first audition, he received a callback for a second audition. Ruffo called himself "very fortunate" after learning he had won the role because quite a few people also tried out for it. Home and Away marks Ruffo's acting debut and he relocated from Perth to Sydney for filming.
